PEACEFUL HOLIDAY WEEKEND IN THE MOUNTAINS OF KY

We slept so well at night in this big ole comfy bed. It was peaceful with the windows open and the cool night air flowing in. Only hearing sounds of crickets, little critters of the night and the whooperwill holloring right outside the window. Life is good in the mountains.

I woke up Saturday morning to the smell of fresh perked coffee and bacon frying! He doesn't cook breakfast often so it was a nice surprise. We were married 33 yrs on Friday, July 2nd... guess he is a keeper. ha

No AC, no fans but the air flow through the well designed cabin was great.

I love this old pickett fence around the mountain. My granny had one like this and I remember seeing her drape clothes over it to dry.

I decorated graves of great great grandparents and great grandma and great grandpa at an old family cemetery (my momma's side) in Owltown. The cemetery is located way back in the mountains of southern Wayne Co. KY.

It Is Wonderful to Watch Your Child Live Her Dream

Our daughter Dr. Ange hard at work. She worked very hard on that long journey to become a Veterinarian. We are so happy that she is living her dream.

Wanda fixed this wonderful quiche. Yummmm.

Vera and Wanda were the hostess. They served wonderful home cooked meal from glass plates, glass glasses and silverware. Vera fixed two other yummy quiche dishes. Along with a yummy dessert. They also decorated the table with beautiful plants that Vera had grown. After the meeting we enjoyed washing the dishes the "old fashion" way (in the sink). It was a great time for fun and fellowship.

Ange and her Dad- Father's Day 2010 - We had a wonderful meal at Lee's Ford Marina and spent time just relaxing and listening to Ange share stories of A Day in the Life of a Veterinarian...it is an adventure that she loves.
