"We Are Family"

We had a family reunion today. It was so nice seeing everyone. A few cousins I hadnt seen in years. We all use to have so much fun up on the mountain when Grandma and Grandpa was still alive. I sure miss those days.
Ange (my daughter) even got to come over...but you dont drive a truck with a vet box on it to a small town that does not have a large animal vet. She ended up doing coggins test on 6 horses and giving shots to a couple of dogs. The family just put her to work. ha. Oh well, just the life of a Vet. She loves it!

My Mom and her brothers and sisters. This is all that is left out of 16 children. (My Mom, white hair and demin outfit on)

This is a few of my first cousins

a few of the 2nd cousins

Ange and her 1st cousins(all but Ty and he would NOT have his picture made...he is two, need I say more?)

Yummy corn grown by Gardener Girl.

>

It is 10:45 p.m. and I still have work to do. I got 36 ears of corn from my friend Gardener Girl late yesterday. So this evening after work I had that job to do. I love cut off freezer corn but it sure does make a mess. In fact, my eyelashes even feel stiff from splatters of corn. ha.

Farmer's Market

On Saturday I visited Farmers Market. I LOVE going there. Brought my Market Basket home full and only spent about 14.00! Potatoes, Squash, Green peppers, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, a large Cabbage head, Sugar Plums, some yummy homemade potpourri and wonderful fellowship with friends!
*don't ck out the corn splatters I might have missed. You know you can always find a speck of corn somewhere weeks later. ha...but dont you just love that fresh corn!

Grandpa and Grandpa

Sharing a picture of my grandma and grandpa. They lived on Edwards Mt here in Southern KY. They never owned a car, no fancy clothes or fancy house, they left no inheritance at all, but they left us with so many memories and showed us so much love. I wouldnt trade my memories for silver or gold.

Chicken scratch

This is what I have started. I had not done chicken-scratch in years. Thought I would do this with a snowman and maybe use if for an apron. It will be for next winter. Ha. This is taking a lot of time. Stitches are not perfect do not look to close. Been a while since I have done this. Not sure if you can tell but it is homespun dark red/and dark cream.

Ange's tea

In Aug. I had my daughter a tea at a bed and breakfast here in our little town. (I think this was the first tea that anyone had done there) She had been out of the country 3 years in Vet school and had got to spend very little time with the family. She did not want a wedding shower, just a tea so she could spend time and make special memories. It was a lot of work but she enjoyed it so much. We are not fancy folks so it was informal but we had a great time and it was very nice. I had shopped for months at my favorite junk stores and thrift shops. As one of the favors every person got to take home a teacup and saucer. They also got a little tea bag. Every set was different. Everyone seemed to enjoy the tea. It was 90+ degrees that day so we had iced sweet tea and unsweet tea, along with the hot tea.

Just Remember

When I share my collections just remember what this little sign says. This is hanging in my kitchen.

Sharing more collections

I just thought I would share a few more of my collections.
Enjoy.

Found a special spot for the syrup container

This is where I put the little yellow topped syrup container I found at the "junk" store yesterday. Fits right in. What do you think?
